Samsung Galaxy Note 2 N7100 – Five New Features

We got an opportunity to touch and feel the best phablet in the world - Samsung Galaxy Note 2 – in an event hosted by Samsung at Radisson Blu, New Delhi. Besides having elite attributes like 5.5 inch HD super AMOLED display, 1.6GHz quad core processor with 2GB RAM, and Android 4.1 Gelly Bean OS, the device boasts some cool features, which make it extraordinary for people who feel to pen down everything in their day to day life! Some of the features that make the device stand out in the smartphone segment are given
below.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 First Look

S Note
The S Note is the app exclusively designed for Galaxy Note. Converting your own handwriting into text and free hand drawing into perfect polygonal shapes were never been so easy. Interestingly, you can even write a complicated mathematical formula on the screen using the S Pen; it will recognize and reproduce digitally.

Quick Command
I would say, this app is similar to Google Voice Search. The difference is instead of voice, the commands need to be penned down using S Pen. You can open the command pad by swiping upward on the screen with the S Pen button pressed. On the command pad, you can write certain shortcut, which will automatically open the desired app on the device. You can also create custom commands for your convenience. For example if you simply write “ # Rahul”, it will take you to the particular contact. If you write “?Nikon L120” it will open the Google search page for Nikon L120. Isn’t it cool?

Best Faces
Samsung has bestowed something really interesting in the camera segment. Best Faces feature is specially designed for clicking group photos. When you click a group photo with a normal camera, you should be lucky enough to get a photo with all faces looking best. With the Best Faces feature, Note 2 shoots multiple shots and allows you to choose the best face for each person in the group and stitches them together to give a best group photo.

AirView
The new AirView UI recognizes the S Pen when it is just a few millimeter away from the display screen. How is it going to make a difference in the user interaction with the phone? Well, it gives absolute control and precision of the mouse pointer making the commands easier. You don’t need to actually click to do many actions; you can open the content of a new email as a popup, by just keeping the S Pen slightly above the notification on the screen. You can also see the preview of the content of a folder by doing the same. Also you can see the live preview of the video while hovering over the video timeline, without touching the screen.

AirView feature

Popup Play
Samsung introduced this feature in Samsung Galaxy S III. Samsung calls it as a productivity feature because with this feature you can watch a video and simultaneously use other applications. The video will be played on the screen as a small popup, which can be dragged and placed anywhere on the screen. The rest of the screen area can be used for other applications such as email etc.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, Tech Specs and First Impressions

As a phone, Samsung Galaxy Note might have met the expectations of many for a bigger of screen. Then you have a bigger note coming to your way this month; the device would be called Galaxy Note II. But I’m sure; there may be many who implore for the luxury of a much bigger screen that can give better viewing experience and better utility space than a Note or Note II. The answer is Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, which is the tablet version of former Galaxy Note.

So let’s find out what the device has on offer for us.
The Hardware Specification
The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 boasts of a 1.4GHz quad core processor which sits pretty on the Exynos chipset. For a graphics enthusiast the Note has Mali 400MP GPU. That is not all folks, the CPU is seconded by a 2GB of RAM.
In the camera segment the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 comes equipped with a 5MP autofocus camera with LED flash. And to spice up the matter the device houses a 1.9 MP camera on the front side of the body. The humongous 7000 mAh battery of the tablet is also an eye catching specification. Though, the non-removable aspect of the battery can be fathomed as something disappointing.

Now display, it is conspicuous from the name itself that the Note is going to hit the retail shelves with a screen size of 10.1 inches. The SuperPLS screen of the Note has a thundering pixel resolution of 1280x800p. The TouchWiz user interface adds gliter to glory.
In the storage capacity segment the Note 10.1 comes in three avatars: 16, 32, 64GB; and to make it even better there is 64GB memory enhancement capacity endowed to the device. In the connectivity arena there is MicroUSB, Bluetooth, 3G, and Wi-Fi connectivity. There are plans to upgrade the device with 4G capability towards the end of the year.
S Pen Functionality
There is no need to clarify that the Stylus in the Note series is called S Pen. The S Pen makes the experience of using text and graphic together amazing. The demo in the video speaks a lot about that. The Samsung Galaxy 10.1 will be appearing preloaded with lots of Adobe Photoshop apps which are customized specially for the S Pen.

Features
The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 comes with ICS 4.0, which by all means is a state of art OS but the fact that the Tablet does not come with the latest Jelly Bean is a little irritating to the eye. The tablet is full of different sensors like Ambient Light, Gyroscope, Compass / Magnetometer, Accelerometer. Then there is document viewer/ editor on board. You have voice memo, predictive text input, Java, SMS, MMS, Email, IM, Adobe Flash Browser. Then there are different kinds of format support for audio and video support.
The Final Words
In all my sincerity, I deem this device as something that will redefine the phrase technical prowess and at the same time it will not be compromising with the user friendliness. Thumbs up, Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1. Virtuoso.

Bigger, Better, and More Powerful Samsung Galaxy Note Set for August 15 Launch

Finally, the time has come for the rumors to take a corporal form, till now the GalaxyNote 2 was merely a rumor, a very hard proposition even to believe; but the Note 2, according to some very reliable sources, is now official.

All the specifications of the phablet have not come to light but the Note 2 seems to be few steps ahead (if not many) of the existing Galaxy Note. Let us have a quick look at the most perceptible changes in the newer note.

As expected the Note 2 will be bigger in size than the Galaxy Note (whether it was necessary or not remains to be a point of argument). The size will be 5.5 inches this time 0.2 inches more than the Note. Then it is also conjectured that this time the RAM is going to be 1.5GB, which was 1GB in the Note.

Unlike the existing Note, the Galaxy Note 2 will not be a region specific 4G LTE handset; but in a country like India where 3G is region specific the feature seems to be a little redundant. Then if you are a credulous person you might believe that the Note 2 will be coming to light with an Exynos 5250 CPU built on ARM Cortex-A15 processor architecture.

The camera of the handset is still in the dark, some say that it will be the same 8MP camera whereas some pundits surmise that it will be somewhere between 10 to 13MP. But one thing is clear as daylight that it will house a front facing camera like its elder brother.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will come preloaded with Android ICS 4.0, no Gingerbread to start with like in the existing Note. Indian Independence Day will come as a judgment day for the Note 2.

Samsung to Bring Bigger Galaxy Note in August

Was the Galaxy Note big enough for you, if not, Galaxy Note 2- a different version, a bigger one, is coming to your way in the later part of August. Yes the Big handset has got bigger and to certain extent, better. I am going to put both the handsets one against another to draw a contrast between them.
The Size
The newer handset, which is expected to emerge for the public viewing at the IFA conference in Germany, is expected to be 0.2 inch bigger than the current Galaxy Note, which boasts a monolithic size of 5.3 inch, though the size of the handset is going to be unadulterated.

The CPU
The bigger the size the bigger the CPU configuration; yes, that is what going to be with the Note 2. The CPU of the Samsung Galaxy Note is 1.4GHz Arm Cortex A-9 processor, the processor clock speed is expected to be a little higher in the Galaxy Note 2. Some tech pundits also expect that the Note 2 will come to light with the same quad core processor that appears on the chipset of the Samsung Galaxy SIII earlier this year.
The Operating System
The Galaxy Note appeared with Android Gingerbread onboard with a planned upgrade to ICS while the Note 2 will hit the retail shelves with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, not need to say that the Jelly Bean is the latest and the best Android OS till date.

RAM
The RAM in the current Note is 1GB, the expected RAM in the Note is going to be 1.5 GB, and that is a huge leap.
The Camera
8MP camera was not an extra-ordinary trait for a device like Galaxy Note, which falls in the above Rs. 30,000 range. But the newer version, Galaxy Note 2, is going to exceed the expectation, donning a 12MP photo snapper. Mouthwatering.

Now, that I have thrown some light on the new Note 2, readers must have understood that what a mind numbing proposition the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is going to be. Fingers crossed.
