Mi-720 is an amazing Android tablet from Spice. At a price of Rs. 12000, the seven inch tablet has exceeded the expectation as a gaming device and a social networking gadget.
Aesthetics
Mi-720 comes with a 7 inch capacitive touchscreen, with a fantastic resolution of 800x480. Swiping left or right helps you to move through various screens and access apps of your choice effortlessly. The pouch, which comes in the package, helps carry the device comfortably and protects it very well. It has a microSD card slot, SIM card slot, microUSB port, 3.5 mm audio jack, volume control keys, screen on key, mic and built-in speaker on its sides.
For Gaming

For Pictures
The 2 megapixel camera clicks excellent pictures outdoor. But those clicked indoor are not really impressive, the reason being not having a flash to light up the object. You can take advantage of features such as digital zoom, brightness level adjustment, and night mode to get better pictures. The resolution is good enough to upload to social networking sites; but not adequate for taking very large printouts. The device supports image formats such as JPEG, BMP, GIF and PNG. You can click self portraits using the VGA secondary camera. Also you can enjoy smooth slide show of still images in the image gallery.
For Music
The device gives ultimate music output though speaker and earphone. The volume control keys are given on the top (when held vertically). The device supports multiple audio formats including MP3, WMA, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, and AMR. Its 3.5mm audio jack lets you enjoy music on your favorite earphone. ReplyDeleteVery nice review. Easily understandable. I almost about to order one MI 720 for me. I have once question. As this device has only 155 MB, if i use many apps can i install apps on microSD card.
I read few blogs many say that it is difficult to move apps to SD card and make it function. My usage varies from Office usage, social media and gaming.
Also can you suggest me how to upgrade to 2.3
ROM is a read only memory and not the user memory.Backend features / operating system are installed in that memory. The user memory is 155 MB, however you will be able add an additional card upto 32 GB. And you will be able to move applications, which support move to SD card option.

I bought this tab from flipkart and it looks like the RAM is not 2 GB (checked using "Android System Info." app. from Market). Did anybody check the RAM and found it to be 2GB as the spiceglobal website claims?

@Hemal- No, there is no PC suite available for Mi720. However, you can connect it directly to your computer through a USB cable. Upon detection, the device would ask for the mode to connect in.(Android devices usually connect in storage mode, debug mode etc).

Hello, I was able to connect my Mi-720 tab to PC and used it as storage device/modem. By mistake I turned 'USB debugging' off and now it does not restart usb tethering, saying that 'usb not connected' even though it is connected to PC. Please help!!

You can activate USB tethering only when the device and laptop is properly connected through USB cable. Follow the steps below and try again. remove the USB cable connection.

Now connect the device with laptop using USB cable. Then click on USB tethering.
It will get activated...

ReplyDeleteI am not able to send SMS. Nor I am able to use Tom Cat or call recorder. I met spice service center, he informed me that the tab needs to reinstall OS 2.2 Froyo again. But after re-installation of OS my data will be wiped and he doesn't have option to restore my data.
Is there really any problem in the OS ? I tried to find the settings of SMS but didn't found. Through the same Sim I tried to send SMS and it works.
Please suggest solution, if any.
Please also inform how to upgrade 2.2 froyo to gingerbread.
