Main Scoring Areas Galaxy SIII Over the SII

Everything has a life span and mobile handsets are no exceptions. A handset comes to the market with lots of new things to offer, the market opens its arms and the handset becomes the talk of the town. Soon afterwards a new handset comes with a couple of newer or modified offerings and the previous item becomes posthumous. The same thing seems to be happening to the Samsung Galaxy SII, which after the arrival of the Samsung Galaxy SIII has seen a couple of price cuts, just to keep the handset going. Lets find out what are the main differences between the two of them.

The Size Difference
Both the handsets sport the same display - the Super AMOLED capacitive screen. But Galaxy S III has not just the bigger screen size with 4.8 inch but has far better pixel resolution of 720x1280p as well. No need to say that with 4.3 inch screen size and 480x800p resolution, the Galaxy SII finds itself tottering.

The Processing Capabilities
The Galaxy SII was not slow, by no means, it had 1.2GHz dual core Cortex A9 processor, which was seconded by a 1GB RAM. But the newer thing has a 1.4GHz quad core processor, which is well complimented by a 1GB RAM. Even a blind man can feel the difference between a dual core and a single core processor.

The Battery Spec
In reply to Galaxy SII’s 1650 mAh battery the Galaxy SIII sports a 2100 mAh battery, which is conspicuously larger and more efficient than the former handset.

Three Memory Avatars of the SIII
The Samsung Galaxy SII comes in two memory avatars -16GB and 32GB- as far as the Storage capacity of the phone is concerned; the Samsung Galaxy S III comes in three memory avatars -16/32/64GB. The more option offered the more customers attracted. Plus SIII gives expansion facility of up to 64GB, the SII can manage the same till 32GB.

Additional Features
The Samsung Galaxy SIII offers unique features in multitude, I have picked five of them for you:
1.      You can set your Internet data usage limit by this phone that proves very helpful if you have a limited data plan.
2.      SIII has S voice which is widely deemed as a potent counterpart to Apple’s SIRI.
3.      You can customize the lock screen according to your choice and liking
4.      You can hide the unwanted software and apps which come preinstalled on your mobile handset.
5.      You can create your own vibration alerts with the help of this handset, just like a few years ago we were allowed to make our own MIDI ringtones for the first time.

Last words
Yes, it is true that the SIII is a superior handset in almost all the areas, but it is also equally true that the Galaxy SII is still one of the best handsets on the face of earth. Plus you have to pay 10K less for the handset. But hey, the Samsung Galaxy SIII reigns supreme at the present moment. Magnum opus.

Samsung Galaxy S III Vs. HTC One X: Head to Head Hardware Comparison

With the market release date of the SamsungGalaxy S III approaching quickly, the world of smartphones looks more abundant with the number of offerings that it has at the present moment at its disposal.
Today, in this article I am going to compare two of the newest and the best entrants in the smartphone world: Samsung GalaxyS III and HTC One X. Both the phones are in the same league as far as the pricing is concerned; let us find out what is main difference and where does it lie.

Display and Size
The Samsung Galaxy S III boasts of a 4.8 inch HD Super AMOLED capacitive touch screen, which has a pixel resolution of 1280x720 p that makes the ppi 306. HTC One X sports a 4.7 inch Super IPS LCD 2 screen, which has the same resolution as the S III has.  In the very first first round HTC One X seems to be languishing behind a little.
CPU and RAM
The Samsung handset comes packed with 1.4GHz cortex A9 processor, which is well complimented by a 1GB RAM and Mali-400MP GPU. The other handset in question the HTC One X spices the comparison with its 1.5GHz quad core processor, 1GB RAM and ULP GeForce GPU. S III equals the score in this section.
Storage
Both the devices sport 32GB onboard memory. But unlike the S III, HTC does not come with a card slot. The expansion capacity of the SIII is 64GB. HTC wins the round hands down.
Battery
In the battery segment both the devices somewhat disappoint me. The Galaxy SIII has a Li-Ion 2100mah battery, in reply the HTC One X sports even weaker battery of 1800 mAh. In order to keep such giant handsets alive for longer period of time both the companies could have done better in this section.
Connectivity
In the connectivity segment both the handset offer plentiful options. The Samsung Galaxy S III is 4G LTE compatible. Then it has Blurtooth 4.0 with A2DP and EDR, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n, DLNA, Wi-Fi hotspot, Wi-Fi Direct, NFC, and MicroUSB 2.0 connectivity. HTC One X is a 3G compatible handset, which has all the above mentioned connectivity specs. But the dearth of 4G compatibility pushes it a step behind the SIII.

Camera
Both the handsets have got an 8MP camera on the rear side of the body and in the front the SIII has a 1.9 MP camera and the HTC One X has 1.3 MP one. Once again the SIII emerges victor.
There are other features to compare but I will stick to the hardware section only.
The Verdict
After going through all the hardware specs of both the handsets one has to come to a conclusion that says that the SIII is better handset between the two of them. It is not just the better handset but has got all the potential to go on to become the best smartphone of the world, that too in the foreseeable future. Samsung Galaxy S III is the thing.

Samsung Galaxy S III VS Apple iPhone 4S

On one hand we have the kingpin of smartphones the iPhone 4S, which, without doubt, is the best handset in the world right now, and on the other hand we have the handset, which has got all the potential to dethrone the ruler, yes, the soon to be released Samsung Galaxy S III. We are going to compare both the handsets one against another. Spicy proposition.
Let’s commence the comparison with hardware section, first the CPU and RAM. The SIII sports a Dual core 1.4 GHz Cortex A9 processor, which is seconded by a 1GB RAM. On the other hand we have the iPhone 4S that has 1GHz dual core Cortex A9 processor, well complimented by a 512MB RAM. This might seem to be a lop sided affair but one should not forget that Apple has a magical power to perform stupendously with a relatively lower spec sheet. This round goes to the Galaxy SIII, marginally though.

Next comes the segment of storage in which both the handsets come in three versions: 16/32/64 GB, but what gives the Samsung Galaxy SIII the upper hand is its capability to incorporate 64GB microSD card. Moving forward, in the display section the Galaxy SIII has a 4.8inch Super AMOLED touch screen, which has a pixel resolution of 720x1280, the screen has support for over 16m colors. The Apple iPhone 4S has a Apple trademark 3.5 inch screen, which has a resolution of 640x960p and has support for over 16m colors. Again the SIII seems to be having a slight edge over the Apple.
The Samsung handset has a 2100mAh Li-ion battery whereas its Apple counterpart has 1442mAh Li-Po battery that gives you a mammoth talk time of 14 hours over the 2G and 8 hours over 3G. I would call this round a tie. Now in the camera section  the SIII sports a 8MP rear and 1.9MP front cam, the other gadget in question has an 8MP rear and A VGA one on the front side. A tie once again.

In the OS segment the SIII offers the latest and the best Android ICS whereas the iPhone sports the iOS 5 and is upgradable to iOS 5.1. No matter how good the ICS is nothing can match the iOS 5(apart from 5.1).
As far as the features are concerned both the handsets have something novel in their kitty. As the verdict time has come I shall have to say, with a heavy heart, it is time for iphone 4S to abdicate the top spot for a better candidate.
