CES 2012 – Sony Announces the Xperia S



Sony has unveiled the sleek and sexy Xperia S in CES 2012. We are astonished with the look and feel of the device, which is just 10.6mm thick and weighs 144g. Xperia S is the first smartphone from Sony brand in the Xperia NXT generation series. Let’s take a closer look at the device:

  • Running on Android Gingerbread and is upgradable to Ice Cream Sandwich (update to be rolled out in Q2)
  • 1.5GHz Qualcomm MSM8260 dual-core processor
  • 1GB RAM, 1GB phone memory with 32GB flash storage
  • 4.3 inch screen with Reality Display and Mobile Bravia Engine
  • 12MP autofocus camera that can take shots in 1.5 seconds directly from standby mode
  • Full HD video recording with primary camera
  • 1.3MP secondary camera with 720p video recording
  • 3G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, NFC
  • DLNA, HDMI, Bravia Sync
  • 1750mAh battery 
 
Xperia S is a PlayStation Certified phone and has access to PlayStation Store. The device will be available in Black & White colors globally from first quarter of 2012. Though, price of Xperia S hasn’t been revealed yet but we are expecting it to be priced around Rs.30,000 approximately.
