Acer Iconia A200 to Hit Indian Market by March 2012



The mid-range tablet from Acer, Iconia A200, is expected to arrive in India by March 2012. Acer has already announced the availability of device in the UK. The 8GB version of A200 has been priced at 299 GBP, which comes to around 25k in terms of Indian currency. But, it's not definite if Acer will be launching the tablet for the same price in India.

Here are the features of the Acer Iconia A200:

  • Operating System – Currently the tablet features Android Honeycomb 3.2 OS, but it's Android Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade will be released in January. So, we can expect that tablet arriving in India will be running on Ice Cream Sandwich
  • Processor – Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core processor
  • Memory – 1GB RAM, 16GB expansion capacity (MicroSD)
  • Screen size – 10.1 inch
  • Display resolution - 1280 x 800 
  • Dimensions -  260 x 175 x 12.4 mm
  • Weight- 720g
  • Battery - 3,260 mAh
  • Video playback time - 8hrs
  • Standby time - 400hrs
  • Connectivity - WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, GPS, DLNA
  • Ports and jacks - 3.5mm headphone jack, Full-sized USB port 
  • Sensors - Gyroscope and Accelerometer
  • Front facing camera – 2MP

Acer Iconia A200 will probably be shipped in two colors – Red & Black. The device doesn't feature a rear camera, which will disappoint the buyers.
