Phones like Samsung Galaxy SII
and LG Optimus 3D Max have not achieved antiquity despite all the hullaballoo
that the newer handsets like Samsung Galaxy SIII and HTC One X have created.
And in fact, it seems to be the right time to go for the said handsets as the
companies have lowered the price tag a little bit, just to keep the handset
going.
Today, in my post I am going to
enact a comparison between the Samsung Galaxy SII and the LG Optimus 3D Max,
just in order to let the users know that either of the handsets are not gone
old enough to be overlooked and which of them is better suited to your need.
CPU and RAM
Both of the handsets in harmony
sport a dual-core 1.2 GHz processor, which is seconded by a 1GB RAM. This a
perfect tie.
Display
The Samsung Galaxy comes packed
with a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED display, which has a pixel resolution of 800x480;
the other handset has a similar sized screen with the same pixel resolution,
but it lacks the AMOLED stuffing. Both the handsets have Corning Gorilla Glass
protection to protect the screen from bumps and scratches. With the latest
Super AMOLED technology this round goes to Samsung Galaxy S II.
Storage Capacity
The Samsung handset comes in
two avatars in the storage segment: 16GB and 32GB, whereas the LG thing has
just one version, an 8GB one. No need to say that Samsung has a landslide in
its favor.
Camera
The Samsung Galaxy SII sports
an 8MP camera on the back side of the body and a 2MP camera on the front side
of the body. In answer to that the LG Optimus 3D Max has 5MP camera on the back and
a VGA one on the front side of the body. Samsung wins it once again.
Battery
In the battery segment the
Samsung Galaxy SII has a standard Li-Ion 1650 mAh battery and the LG handset
sports a 1520 mAh one. No need to say that Samsung is the winner once again.
Connectivity
In the connectivity segment
both the handsets seem to be at the same level as both of them are 3G handsets,
both of them sport GPRS, EDGE, Bluetooth, USB, WLAN; Samsung handset has
optional NFC whereas the LG handset sports NFC everywhere.
In the software arena both of
the handsets are Android Gingerbread powered devices and have the capacity to
be upgraded to the latest Android, the ICS soon afterwards.
I will not divulge into the app
section because the handsets have almost all of the apps in them, neither of
them is lesser to the other handset.
The Verdict
After going through all the
tech specs, I don’t think that there is any doubt left in your minds that which
one of the handsets is the better one, of course the Samsung Galaxy SII. But
that does not mean, by no means, that LG Optimus 3D Max is a bad handset
either. My recommendation is, folks, with the Samsung Galaxy SII, it is the
thing for you!
